'A family estate producing fine English wines since 1971'
David & Linda Carr Taylor established the vineyard, in the beautiful 1066 countryside just north of Hastings, more than 30 years ago and quickly gained international recognition for their award winning English wines. In 1985 they were one of the first to pioneer commercial English sparkling wine for which their reputation is now firmly established winning many awards including a Gold medal in 1988 & 1999 in the Challenge International du Vin.
Their son, Alexander, has joined the company as winemaker, and has gained winemaking experience in New Zealand and Oregon. In 2004 he won the Vintners Scholarship and Vintners' Cup, the highest award of the International WSET wine diploma. His passion, in England's cool climate, is producing fresh, clean, fruit driven English wines.
Their daughter, Antonia, joined the company in September 2005, having worked for the previous 8 years for a Fine Wine Merchant in London where she also was awarded the WSET diploma.
Carr Taylor Wines boast a superb line of English wines and fruit wines that capture the essence of an English summer.
Varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as Bacchus, Kerner and Schonburger provide a magical blend of old and new flavours. The vineyard, with its traditional winery and visitor centre, lies in the picturesque heart of the Sussex countryside.
