We are a husband and wife team making chocolates by hand in our beautiful Swaledale kitchen in the Yorkshire Dales. Our aim is to provide fine chocolate at a fair price using only the best ingredients and sourcing locally whenever possible. We use Valrhona chocolate to make all of our products, which is highly recommended by chocolate connoisseurs and rightly classed among the finest chocolate in the world.
We never use preservatives, artificial flavours or colours and we only add sugar where it is called for, such as in brittles or caramelized nuts. Many chocolatiers will add ingredients to increase the shelf life of their chocolates. However, at Angel Chocolates we believe that pure, simple ingredients are best so additives are not allowed in the kitchen! For this reason our fresh cream chocolates have a shelf life of approximately 2 weeks from purchase. However, we think it is worth sacrificing shelf-life for taste and the quality of our ingredients is reflected in the pure flavours of our chocolates. However, our hearts, half kilo slabs, hand-cut slabs and dipped apricots will last for months as they do not contain fresh cream.
All of our products are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. Although not all of our products contain nuts, they are all made in a kitchen where nuts are used and may contain nut traces (including peanuts). Our fresh cream chocolates, white chocolate and milk chocolate products contain dairy ingredients. However, all three types of our dark chocolate are dairy free. All of our chocolates contain soy lecithin as an emulsifier. We are very happy for you to contact us if you wish to know more about our ingredients.
